Anyone swap from drops to straights? If so which one?

Out of interest, if going for a flat bar with wider clearance, and fitting with slightly wider tyres tyres (say 28s), would the difference between alu and carbon be that noticeable?

Possibly/probably not.
When I bought my "toy" and got back into cycling 3 years ago I got carbon and, if possible, would like to stay with carbon.

A few more options to look at, check out the geometry, a tall stack/head tube will help bring your bars up. The 1x11 chain set seems popular as these are essentially super commuters
