I did just under 40 miles today. Bit disappointing, as I was aiming at getting to the south coast which is about 65 miles. The wind was pretty rough, though, and it's a long time since I've ridden many hills so, when the wife drove past on her way to her parents, I chucked the bike on the carrier and jumped into the back of the car.
I need to find a better (i.e. flatter!) route to the south coast.
Loving the Spesh Secteur, though. I've got no pain in the, ahem, saddle bits but my legs are a bit sore. It was the first time I've done any distance on a road bike in about 25 years, though.
Took me nearly 3.5 hours to do that distance, which is pretty pedestrian, but there was about 1,600 feet of climbing involved. And I did walk up onto the Hog's Back.
Good times, though, hope to get back out again tomorrow.
