Problem?????

boiler stopped working earlier today & was flashing fan/flue fault.
anyway i reset the system & all is working fine now(so far so good) .
just wondered if it is anything i should be worried about.

Check that there is a good air flow both out of the flue and also into the house. Either may be blocked with snow.
If it is a blananced flue (modern) the in pipe is inside the out pipe.
If it is an older style then again check the out flow end for snow (should not be a problem as it should melt in the heat but also ensure you have a clear vent to let air into the house. With modern doors and windows a house can be almost air tight so needs vents.

Other than that it could just have got a bit hot and shut itself down for a while. It may be working beyond its design capacity.

Get it serviced if not done for a while.

The microprocessor on a boiler control board sometimes throws a wobbly even if there is no fault. I'd just reset it and see if the problem goes away. If it doesn't, the boiler servicing manual usually has a fault finding section which indicates what each error message could be due to.

My all singing dancing going to be the best thing since sliced bread which the council fitted a few monts ago, made some Orrible noises today and failed.

The old boiler with is nice big hotwater tank run for 25 years with only having a pump replaced, and then only cos the service man said it was starting to make a noise.

But I guess what happens when you become part of the decent homes plan.

Like OTH said, make sure there is a good flow of air into and out of the flue.
First port of call...make sure there's no obstructions... plastics bags, bird's nests, wasps' nest, cobwebs, etc.
My combi stopped working because of cobwebs in the venturi (a thin pipe that detects pressure differences). Once it was cleared, it started working again.

Anyway, glad you got it sorted...Wrong sort of weather to be without hot water/heating.
