Any Parish councillors on here?

Went along to my first PC meeting last night to talk about speeders in our street. Stayed for the full meeting and rather enjoyed myself, I found myself contributing quite a bit of useful stuff to the discussions. At the end the clerk asked me if I'd be interested in joining the PC if a vacancy came up.

Whaddya think? Worth doing or on a hiding to nothing? It's only an hour or so every six weeks.

I went to a similar meeting in January. Got elected to my council in April, and have managed to get a zebra crossing and a dangerous (due to non indicating speeding traffic) slip road closed off.
