Hi Everyone

I've just had a practice run at taking the back wheel off, replacing the inner tube and sticking the wheel back on. I wanted to learn this incase I need to do it for real. It was a successful mission but I found replacing the wheel was very awkward and not as easy as the tutorials I've come across suggest. Any vids that I've seen seem to show the bike secured to a stand / rack or a second person is available to hold the bike steady.

Maybe I'm being too hard on myself, afterall it was my first go. However, any tips or advice on how to complete this task single handed on the road will be very much appreciated.

Did you remember and change to the smallest sprocket ?

Skilled bike mechanics can whisk it in and out in seconds without a rack/stand or second person, I can't though

Smallest, or second to smallest sprocket - depends upon how tight a fit the frame/sprockets run. Undo Quick release or bolts, pull mech backwards and drop wheel out.

Dont forget to put something under your shifter to stop them getting scratched. If it happens while you are out then use your gloves n the floor to protect them.

LOL, I don't think I've hurt my shifters but I have scratched lights/ computers
