any commissioning editors (or similar) on here?

hi all, i have been asked to consider doing a publication in its entirety, including commissioning of articles. it's a great opportunity (i used to work for the company concerned) and i'm sure i can make a go of it (i can do all the design and page layout myself).

the question is, how much do i charge? anyone any idea how much i should charge in terms of either hourly rate/word count etc?

google has not provided much by way of an answer, and all the people i know who would know work for the same company, and as of the moment i'm not allowed to let it be known that this publication is being contracted out…

But as you say, probably not so accurate. Try and work out the bit you know then see if you can find out the total cost of a previous publication from your old employ, perhaps? The total minus your estimation will give some idea of the commissioning bit...otherwise don't know. But still, good luck.
