I had a funny moment not so long ago, not road rage as such, i had a learner driver overtake me and then came to a r/bout the learner went my way but was slow, so i kept to my pace and there was enough room for me to line up with the instructor on the inside and said c'mon you can go faster than that cant you, he got such a shock that i was doing about 25mph then i carried on but ahead of them then heard the gear change and promptly started to overtake me with the instructor laughing at me, probably saying to the girl c'mon we just been undertaken by a cyclist (not something i would normally do) makes a change to under/overtake a car with us both coming out smiling.

Being the owner of an aformentioned Range Rover,& 5 bikes of varying types,I can assure you that there are some giant cockpieces on bikes as well.Followed 2 yesterday, cycle lane is at least 2 bikes wide, but these dickheads took half the road as well.No wonder that Joe motorist gets ****ed off with these tossers,& tars all cyclists with the same brush.i think this brings me back to the start....

can you point me to the bit of UK law that says I MUST ride in the cycle lane and cannot hold up tiny knobbed drivers by riding in a primary position. I am struggling to find it.

When cycle lanes have been installed at great expense to all taxpayers,it would be good manners to use them.Should one get injured in a crash because they decided to flout the cycle lanes,I would assume any compensation would be reduced, due to contributory negligence.

I think the claimant's contributory negligence would be outweighed by the council's negligence in allowing the build up of many years of puncture-causing detritus, pot holes, loose damaged surfacing, broken drain covers....

I also find some cycle lanes in this town have been positioned by folk who have clearly never ridden a bike. If you were able to force cyclists into cycle lanes a lot of the time you would be putting them next to pavements, which puts them dangerously close to pedestrians.

How many times has grumpyoldgit gone to the shops Cross-Country in your range rover for which they are designed for, these days they are are status symbols for look how much money i have got, and im bigger than you get out of my way, i used to say why ride side by side but nine times out of ten they are talking to each other instead of looking at your mates arse for the duration, do you not talk to your passenger, how would you feel if you had to cut your range rover in half and make your passengers talk to you from behind all the time while looking at the back of your head, the cycle lanes in my town are mostly in my town centre where pedestrians walk on as well you would have to ride at walking pace and is dangerous if you want to go 20mph so you have to use the road as Andrew_Culture says.

are you sure you ride any of the 5 bikes you say you own? most of the farcilities (sic) installed actually place the cyclist in more danger than not using it.
heres one from a commute route i thankfully no longer have to do http://goo.gl/maps/Y3xdF tell me the dangers in this newly installed piece of crap infrastructure, and where i should be riding

My rr is regularly used off road,to carry welders ,cutting gear & diesel plant. It is in use today at a shooting ground where the only vehicles that can get there are 4x4.Very rarely have passengers, work is a business, not a social activity. How can a vehicle, that can be bought for under £1000,be classed as a statement of wealth???I would also note that subaqua must be a rr owner,it is the only way that they could state how good,or bad the rr is off road.Yes the defender is better off road, but it is crap on it.
Do I use all my bikes?Yes,but a couple are for very sunny days only.

So you don't own a RR Sport.

Vast difference between that and a standard RR.

Read properly.

See what I did there.

In that case I insist you come and lie in this bathtub full of rusty razorblades that I have, at great inconvenience and expense, constructed for you.

It doesn't matter how painful and dangerous it is: I have built it just for you, so it would be very poor manners of you not to use it.

I fail to see the relevance here.A rr sport is just a Discovery with a rr body,a rr vogue is the base model rr.
I always use motorways, even the toll ones,if they go where I need to.

A few weekends back I was out for an early Sunday morning ride. Whilst stopped at a set of red lights (no cars around initially ) I was just taking a drink waiting for the lights to go green a car pulled up alongside me, wound his window down and growled something along the lines of "C**ts like you should use the F***ing cycle lanes thats why they are F***ing well there and leave the F***ing roads for cars. I suggested very calmly that he should indeed invest in a bike and start riding it as it is a marvellous exercise and good for relieving the obvious stress you are suffering !! At this point he went berserk and drove off through the still red light !! Some drivers really are amazing
