I've been to Anfield many times and simply turned in to a side street and parked. Walked back up the street and noticed I'd parked on Ince Avenue!! Had no choice but to move the car in case my parking on a road named after a United player might be unlucky.

Well once, when I was younger and more 'competitive' against Man Ure fans and we were playing them at our place, we noticed several first-timers to the area make the classic mistake of parking on that big triangle opposite the Cabbage. One of them took his Man Ure sticker out of his windscreen so alerting us to where his loyalties lay. As ever, the deformed mutants were kept in for half an hour after the game as they obviously can't be allowed to mix with polite society. On our return, we noticed our Manchester chap had received an unfortunate parking ticket. Showing admirable comradeship, I prevented him from receiving the bad news on his return to his vehicle and removed it off his windscreen for him. Wasn't that commendable of me?

Hope you enjoyed your day @Dave7. I took the two little lads, first time at the top of the new main stand.
One good thing about the legends games, always makes me think I've aged well!

I used to get a spot of vertigo when sat at the top of the centenary stand and so I think I might struggle at the top of the new main stand!

We did really enjoy it thanks............I trust you and you lads did.
Wow........a bit different to the "old" stadium isn't it.
We were in the main stand-just below and to the right of the cameras. I assume you were behind the cameras??
After all the deliberation and CCrs help re' parking I found our that my tickets gave us free parking at St Domingos which was just a 15 minute battle away.

We were certainly a long way up and away from the field.........difficult to identify some of the players---particularly as they look slightly different from 25 years ago

I wouldn't like to sit in it. A mate of mine who sat in the old one tells me his seat in the new one is bitterly cold and too far away for him to see the action in great detail. He said it's worse than that monstrosity at Newcastle where my eldest son delights in telling everyone that one time we were sitting there, we were so far away, he couldn't tell if it was Michael Owen or Emile Heskey who'd scored!

In my experience, kids will be over to you pretty quickly with a "look after yer car mister?" offer.
Just pay them AFTER the match. I was parked a few years ago near Anfield and a kid came up offering cast iron protection for my car for £5.

On the way back I was walking down the street and every car window was smashed so anticipated a cold drive home. They must have been disturbed the car before mine though as the trail of destruction ended there.

I paid my £5, unfortunately the bloke two cars back had paid in advance and still ended up with smashed windows. He appeared less then happy with the quality of the protection racket.
