Got tickets for Liverpool legends Vs Real Madrid on Saturday.
Going by car..........never done that before. Hence I have no idea about parking locations or costs.
I've phoned the stadium and was told it may cost £10.00 per day but she couldn't suggest any particular spots.

Placeholder for unfunny joke about getting back and finding your car on bricks.

Is there a soccerbus running? If so, park by Sandhills staion (all industrial around there) and get the soccerbus to Anfield which start/stops right outside the station.

Stanley Park is now permit holders only since the new stand went into sevice.

On the odd occasion we go to Anfield we have used Goodison Park (5 mins walk away from Anfield) - costs £10.

Will take you ages to get away from LFC in your car btw.

Back in the 60's there was a story of a fella asking a question. How do i get to Anfield. An old Scottish bloke told him practice lad practice. It seems the old chap was Bill Shankly.

I always used to park on Pinehurst Ave (10 minute walk), when I had a season ticket. Easy to get back onto princess drive. Never had any issues from residents. Has the usual scallys asking to mind your car.

Right, based on my experience of going to Anfield for 53 years now (and an ever-present so far this season - although I don't do friendlies so I won't be at that one), my perfected routine is to park on Richmond Park. Put it in to your GPS. It isn't a park but a street in L7, have a look at it on Google Earth. There's a 2/3rd mile residents-only parking zone around the ground so if you get any nearer than Richmond Park, you will have to pay on a controlled parking zone but my philosophy is never to pay or I'd have to do it every week so I won't. Also, ignore all the 'official'-looking blerts trying to wave you in to a dodgy looking back street and give them £5-£10 for the privilege.

Also ignore the Commodores (once, twice, three times a season etc) on here telling you kids will come up expecting money. On that street, they will not so ignore all that nonsense. Then you've got three pubs en-route to the ground. The Cabbage is a good one and despite it being packed, you'll get served pretty quickly. The Flat Iron is a bit wool for me so I avoid that and then you've got the Arkles which again is alright but crowded and more difficult to get to the bar. Don't pay for any food or drink inside the ground unless you earn Premier players wages and whatever you do, outside the ground DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES CONSIDER BUYING THE FILTH THEY SELL AT 'STREET FOOD' because that pretty well describes the poison they try and fob off on you.

If you need any further info, PM me and I'll answer any queries you have.

If you don't mind a little walk to the ground park around Westminster Road area (Kirkdale L4) It's a shortish walk up to Stanley Park and the ground. That's where I always park and walk up with the kids.

I'd do what @Crackle says and get the soccer bus from sandhills if it's running for the friendly. Also, as @odav says its not too far to walk from sandhills or bank hall. My gran lived in kirkdale and I'd jog from there every other Saturday. Never driven to the game but PaulB sounds like he knows what he's talking about.

I have parked at Paradise Bingo Club, on Carisbrooke Rd, just behind Goodison Park, on 4 occasions and it has worked really well. It's a 10 minute walk, through Stanley Park, to Anfield, has a Marshall on the car park, easy to get in and out of, with no queues and was reasonably priced at £5. I haven't been to a match for about 2 years now and so not 100% certain it's still operating, but worth a look. They used to advertise on the "Park on my drive" website.

Reading this post took me back many years. On 14th May 1995 I was one of 3000+ Rovers fans lucky enough to have a ticket for the final match of the season after which we were crowned champions.

I've been to Anfield many times and simply turned in to a side street and parked. Walked back up the street and noticed I'd parked on Ince Avenue!! Had no choice but to move the car in case my parking on a road named after a United player might be unlucky.
