No surprise to hear this morning that second doses of vaccine are cancelled until further notice . Far better, apparently, to have more people partly immune than to do a proper job on a lesser number. Piss up and brewery springs to mind.

That's a matter for the experts to decide, not you. I think they have a better knowledge on the subject. Its quite possible that a second injection was not necessary. Two was A belt and braces approach!! I am a fan of the latter but maybe getting as many people immunised as possible so we can go to the pub again is more important and possibly the front line workers might also be important, possibly.

No, somebody else has already claimed it.
Sorry; I must have missed that post. They must have been quick though, because I got my first jab on day 2 of the roll out in Scotland which was first in the UK..

Can you say why you got it this early?
No; that was a matter for the experts to decide, not me.
The same experts who have now decided on a different approach from that on the Pfizer website. I would have thought the vaccine manufacturer would have more knowledge on the subject.

Helen, one of the Directors of (A&E) Services was walking around early this afternoon
She asked if I was busy,
"No, what can I help you with?"
Expecting to be requested to sort something out for her
"Take this card, & go to Trust HQ, if you want the first dose"

So, quite unexpectedly, I was vaccinated (along with about 20 other staff)
And, by the Sister/Ward Manager who was helping out, who was my chief bridesmaid, when I got marred in the late 90's (& is also my daughters godmother!)

Even better, the required 15 minutes 'rest' after being jabbed was spent talking to one of the Consultants, then..... conveniently!!, it was time to go home:okay:

After another cancellation, I finally got vaccination #2 yesterday, making me one of the first 25000 people in Scotland to do so.
Hopefully it will be effective, despite Pfizer scientists saying there should be no more than 6 weeks between vaccinations. Mine was 10 weeks and one day. Like much of this whole sorry Covid situation, it is guess work. We just need to wait and see what happens next as far as mutant versions of the virus go, and the effectiveness of the vaccine. Fingers are crossed!

I got number 1 booked next week. Despite being only 51 - 52 in a few days time - and in excellent health they have decided that my BMI puts me in the new high risk group.

I'm a lifelong weight lifter with a chest measurement 18 inches greater than my waist, but I'm not arguing if it means I get a jab.

I can foresee that once the intial vaccines are administered we'll be getting annual boosters along with our flu jabs, to boost existing immunity and counter any newly identified strains.
