I don't, but I agree that it's a good idea to do that.

I prefer to swap tubes on rides and repair at home so it has been a long time since I did a roadside puncture repair. The last time I went to patch a tube at home, the glue in my kit had indeed gone dry!

I'll go and check my glue now. (Hang on...) It's okay - it's a pretty new kit and it looks like I've only done one repair with it so far.

Tip. ( Bloody serious this one ).

NEVER let the nozzle of the rubber solution tube touch the sandpapered innertube when applying the goo. Always waste a bit of goo before putting cap back on the tube.

One trapped tiny bit of rubber off the innertube will cause the vulcanising solution in the metal to solidify.

Taking the biscuit
For the record I have found the Park self adhesive patches work fine on 26" tubes at pressures upto 65 psi.
They really don't work on pressures above 100 psi unless the hole is tiny.
