My wife is going to buy some of the things from Aldi. I was wondering do any women have any idea how the sizes S-XL compare to women's sizes? She is a 14 btw. I have only bought the odd thing in Crane's men's gear and the sizing seems pretty generous compared to the usual cycling companies. Not sure about women's stuff though.

I'm a size 12 in most clothes with an occasional 14 and I get medium in Crane stuff.

Lots of stock at one near my office, not checked the one near home as I didn't want to risk buying loads of kit then having to carry it all to work. As it happened I was only interested in the cheap cycle computer, shirts and soft shell jacket. Not tried on the shirts yet but the sizing on the jackets is strange.

I would normally take a medium but I am tall so sometimes have to compromise with a large for the length. Anyway, tried on a medium and it was way to tight and short in the arms, large would just about do up but tight in the back and short in the arms. X-Large was too big in the body but somehow still too short in the arms!

If no ones already replied I think the sizing is ok I'm a 12 and 12/14 or M is a nice fit in the ladies, they will take them back if they don't feel right...

Anyone know what the cheapo 4.99 LED lights are like? Not planning to use them when its properly dark, just between 7pm and 8.30 for the road bit between my house and the local woods/trails.

Got some gloves (had them before and really like them) and a computer (replacing the one I broke two days ago). Decided against the saddle bag tool kit, then got home and discovered my old saddle bag has a hole in, so I'll be popping in tomorrow morning for one.

I agree with crumpetman about the weird sizing on the jackets. It's the first time I've rejected cycle clothing because it's too short at the front, rather than the back.

Thanks for all the replies from the ladies regarding Crane sizing for my wife. She is going this morning to buy some items in medium, thanks again.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Up early, first in store, only one other punter (somewhat surprised by that). Seriously p....d off! Went specifically for a WHITE ultra light jacket. NONE in small men's size, only one or two small in yellow (have a yellow one - runner's version - already, very happy with it). Why can't Aldi get their act together and stock what they advertise? really think they have lost it - very little choice this time - e.g. women's soft shell - any colour you like as long as its pink! Who needs gel saddle covers? Saddles looked tacky, gloves cheap and nasty. Socks too short for serious cyclists. Again not much choice in the colour of jerseys. Lights look PoundShop-ish, saddle bag and tools cheap and plasticky. I don't think I will bother next time. Oh - and the base layer top and shorts - bought last time, no longer in men's small size! DOH! (and worse expletives .......)

By the way, if your local store had the white jacket in small ...... I don't want to know!

No light cycling tops in our store either, they failed to be delivered to the store and I wanted a couple of them too  ... .. Expected to arrive tomorrow... lights don't bother with, they'll fall apart in no time or the clamps will fail (last ones lasted 3 days)

The gloves are not too bad for the price, I still have mine from two years ago and they have served me well (so I bought another pair)

I called in after I went to Decathlon for some tennis balls.

Came back with a white ultra light jacket. Could have done with a small but medium's okay. Very light weight indeed. Folds away into an itty-bitty pouch. I can put my mucky winter jacket away now!

Couple of pairs of gloves. No idea why I needed two, but hey ho. They're pretty decent for the price. We'll have to see how long they last...

And finally some shorts. Not tried them on yet but they seem quality enough.

I wasn't really tempted by much else. Tried the soft shell jackets on but they were awful fit, which is a shame 'cause they feel nice.

I got a top, lightweight jacket, compression underwear, computer for the little one and a mini pump which seemed sturdy so it will be interesting to see if it gets to a decent high pressure. For £3.99 it is worth a gamble.

Wooo, just back from my local one (Upminster). Got much more than I planned to buy. The tops and shorts are nice, good fit for me.

I forgot to get a comp or a cheapo lock for the BSo when at the local cornershop.
