We all know alcohol is very fattening, but is alcohol free beer also fattening? Decided to lose a bit of weight by cutting out the daily couple of pints, but there's nothing like a cold beer on the odd sunny day we get, hence my question.
"Fattening" is nonsensical when talking about food and drink, it's a fantasy to think any given food or drink is or is not fattening. The amount of fat stored in your body is a function of both what you do and what you eat, *all* of what you do and eat - not one item from the week.
Fattening should be used only to describe a lifestyle.
Healthy, is another question. Two pints a day isn't going to help your health, it does carry sugars which you are unlikely to metabolise if you're sitting about and will get stored as fat, it increases your appetite so you tend to eat more than you would. Also, alcohol is a toxin - your body is concentrating its effort on getting rid of the alcohol and processing the other things as a lesser priority.
Two pints on a Sunday afternoon in the sun, should be fine though
