Bike shop should fix it under warranty at less than a year old - shouldn't cost you anything. Don't be fobbed off.
I bought mine mail-order from Pearson's in Surrey but had it repaired by my LBS.

MP,
You are quite welcome to bring the bike round on sunday. I would be more then happy to show you how to take the cranks/bb apart, give it a clean and re-grease. Could be a simple matter of a bit of grit/dirt and/or just need tighteneing. If you remember on our ride last month I had a click, a quick clean and re-tighten and no problem since

Ian your are true gent. I have not been out much but its getting worse !. Thank you as I was a little worried about trying this !

Are you about in the morning sunday?. I need to be at home in the afternoon

If it's a sort of creaking click, check the crank-to-BB bolt. I've had these not be fully tight on me before and you get this creaking, clicking noise. Check for a cracked crank arm boss (the bit that fits over the BB spindle).
Finally, check the set screws holding the chainrings on aren't loose.
Failing that, turn up your Walkman/iPod:smile:

Thats pretty much what im experiencing now. I changed my pedals and yesterday thought it solved the problem, its not as bad now but when I tried listening checking it over it sounds like at regular intervals coming from the rear cassette. Maybe a couple of wonky chain loops?

ok so I have the answer to my initial question on this thread. The answer is you all need a local Ian to show you how : )

It was a simple case of dirt, looseness and a lack of lube. All in all it took Ian around 30 mins to dismantle clean, lube and re ensemble my BB and crank and now I know how to sort it myself !

Many thanks for the lesson in bike maintenance Ian and not forgetting a very nice cuppa : )
