Christmas was calculated as being 9 months after the crucifixion, on the assumption that Christ was conceived on the same day of the year that he died.

Actually 9 months after the Annunciation (which was when the Archangel Gabriel supposedly visited Mary to tell her she was going to be the mother of Christ).

The feast of the annunciation is 25th March UNLESS that falls in the fortnight covered by Holy Week and Easter week.

They established the date of the crucifixion, fixed the annunciation to that, then counted forward nine months.

I've only just realised that Bognor Regis is so exclusive! In Steptoe & Son they always gave the impression it was a dump.

All the areas with no blue streetview lines are private estates...

I think I might've posted this before on here, maybe not too long ago, so If I have please forgive my forgetfulness. 🧐 A friend kept talking about someone he knows who's had those veneers fitted in Turkey, referred to as Turkey teeth. I kept hearing him say Turkey teeth, thinking he meant the bird not the country, thinking "But turkeys don't have teeth, what the hell's he on about"!

Bruce Springsteen sounds like Joe Biden when he talks.

Mmm, maybe he looks like him as well. 🤔 Have they ever been seen in the same room together?

That the name of the colour Turquoise is derived from Turkey, the country. Apparently the copper based mineral with that colour was brought into France from Turkey in the 17th century. I’ve never thought about that before.

the war of the roses seems to have little to do with the counties - i thought it was Yorkshire and Lancashire battling it out. How mistaken I was
