The head of the bird is a corkscrew. We had a friend make the body in his workshop. A pretty good match for 15 minutes work.
Judging by the location of the hole it was gouged out by the rim itself. Pretty good hole punch that. Proper job.
Just going through my old stash of inner tubes and patching the ones that are worth saving.

Not much there really, but it just occurred to me as I was preparing them for my daughter's Big Day that I was using the shoeshine kit I've been using ever since it was awarded me for some death-defying stunt during my time as a Scout, 50+ years ago.Super photo, @swee'pea99. You'd think it was a Trigger's broom sort of scenario but actually it's the original brushes & dusters....only the polish changes.Either a very big tin of polish, or not much polishing in 50 years😁😉
