yes, I can't deny I'm fortunate. I joke with my wife that given my love of the outdoors, had she come from another state, we may be divorced by now
There are certainly quite a few state parks in my area (see
here) and that's not all -I also have The Trustees of Reservations (see
here) and numerous town properties. I think there are at least 10 properties for me to go to within a 5 mile radius, which really is great. One thing that is hard to explain over here is the population density of the UK; it's especially funny as people say the north east is densely populated (and to be fair, the north east
is densely populated relative to most of the US.) They really don't know!
In fact, if you are a bit of a rambler or a mountain biker, I feel Massachusetts is overlooked and is a great destination. Thinking about it, I think you could fly into Boston and take the commuter rail out to loads of destinations.
