A touch of colitis the vet said. Colitis is an inflamed large intestine isn't it, without using Google. He's also got anti-biotics, so we'll see how he is tomorrow.
I've heard too many horror stories about dogs and vomiting and diarrhea, so as soon as he started I thought I'd get him down the vet to be certain he was OK.
It started off quite mildly over Easter 2 years ago. When it got worse (trying to stay awake lying by her to be able to tell when she needed to go), I took her to the emergency vets on the Sunday morning (being a BH). He shoved the thermometer up her ass (I winced as I'm sure she would have been uncomfortable) gave her a jab of antis and a jab to stop the diarrhoea. Said she would be 'fine' and it was just an upset.
It didn't work. By the morning of BH monday it was virtually pools of blood and the smell .... I will never forget it.

It no longer smelt of sh*t but like death. You could smell it through the house and it took days to go after rigorous cleaning.
So we took her back to the same vets, a different vet was called out and he kept her in and said that if we had left it any longer she would have died. In the end, she was put on a drip and transfered to our vets the next day. There she stopped for 4 days on a drip and I really thought she was going to go - to the extent that I discussed euthanasia with the vet. She talked me into giving Petrix a chance so we did.
Nearly a £1000 in fees, but of course, well worth it. B)
Keep your eye on him - but then, he is a much younger dog.
