No, it doesn't.

I take it you didn't read the link that Adrian so helpfully provided? It's worth the couple of minutes to do it, as it is written by someone whose profession was the testing of helmets. http://cyclehelmets.org/1209.html

I read the link, thank you, which was posted After I posted you will note. Very interesting article, which goes against something I read about motorcycle helmets a while back. Can't find the article now though, unfortunately.

I shan't be commenting on anything helmet related from here on. Pointless where people are far from open minded.

To be fair, Nick Clegg's profession is politician - doesn't mean he knows sod all about politics.

And just because someone tests helmets doesn't automatically make them an authority. After all, if these testers are so clever then why after all these years are we still saddled with these ineffective polystyrene monstrosities?

The two are not comparable.

How convenient.

Despite there being no evidence whatsoever that head injuries were a problem for over 100 years?
Hahahaha! Head injuries not a problem??? This is getting farcical now. I guess you didn't see the video on Children in need last night, about a lad who (just once) forgot to put his bike helmet on, and unfortunately had a catastrophic accident involving a serious head injury. He was in hospital and rehabilitation for around 14 months and is still only just able to speak, cannot walk and needs constant attention. Now whether a helmet would have saved him completely is open to debate, but judging by the very moving words of his father, a head injury most certainly IS a problem.

@glasgowcyclist I am being told not to discuss this, yet you complain that I am following said advice. ;)

Why can't folk just wear them if they want to, and don't wear them if they don't want to? Why the slavering, rabid, mouth-foaming rhetoric?

I tells you, it's a good thing cycle helmet weren't around during the crusades else there really would've been some bother!

Fair comment Drago. I'll keep wearing the helmet then!

I'm not convinced by that since your comment about not discussing it further came before the Mod's admonition.

Your given reason was in fact that it was:
Pointless where people are far from open minded.

I am, however, happy to continue discussing it with you in an appropriate thread in the helmet and headphones dungeon.
