Scan as you shop, no unpacking the trolley at the checkout just to then pack it again.

Straight in, no queue, pay and go

It's all very well for you city folk with them there modern shops...!

Provided you don’t buy alcohol, or, tagged items, or, get random “quality” check.

But, I agree, on balance, they are neat, I use them.

I refused to use it before the current crisis, now its the only way I shop.

My rule is if there's a queue outside there's too many inside and progress will be painful. I'm going to smaller shops and a couple of excellent farm shops.

I don't condone the job stealing technology and there is ALWAYS alcohol
Tried to buy 8 bottles of Eagle Brewery banana bread beer at the self scan till in Asda this morning.... It didn't go well

I haven't queued anywhere. Click and collect for household stuff and get groceries delivered once a week. Milkie brings fresh milk every day.

You get the carrier bags from M&S then do the actual shipping in Tesco.

I agree but our nearest farm shop is approx 1 mile away. I went last week and people were queuing out of the gate. Cars were parked down the road.

It took me over an hour at the weekend to pick up some nails from B&Q which cost less than £3.
Queue to get in for 40 mins and queue to pay for 20 mins. Bonkers.
It would usually take 5 minutes.
Luckily it was sunny, imagine doing that in the rain.

Order online, probably get it at least 5 minutes sooner if using Prime.

My ex wife was a director for a firm that did electronic supplies. One day she came home with a bag full of genuine Harrods branded plugs and ordered me to fit them to every appliance in the house. I ended up divorcing her to get out of that chore.

I had to queue at the cash point yesterday. Sadly the old lady in front had forgotten her specs..She asked young man,,well she had no glasses, could you check my balance for me.,So i shoved her over.
