Your life won't be the same again- nor your wallet and nor will your holiday destinations, well done to her (and your support!)

That's fantastic and good for her. I was out today on some lovely quiet north Essex lanes and about 15miles of my route was also being used for what must have been an organised ride. The lanes were buzzing with cyclists of all ages, sizes and abilities. There were old touring bikes, hybrids, mountain bikes and top end machines. Everyone was having a ball. Never said as many hellos, how you doing etc. really enjoyed myself. What a great sport cycling is. One that can be enjoyed by all no matter what your size or shape is, whatever your bank balance is anyone can get stuck in. So to all those out there today well done and keep riding.

Massive thankyou to everyone for there supportive messages wife is a bit overwhelmed, on our way home today she said she could not wait to get on her bike again but she has saddle sore ha ha ha.

On a related note, we had a walk round a car boot this morning with my parents and my dad shouted me over and said does this bike look ok to you its only 40.00 so I gave it the once over and said it looks good, brakes need adjusting a bit bit other than that its sweet. So he bought it, I said to him so how do you plan on getting it home he said you can ride it back for me ha ha ha. So I got to do a nice 10 mile ride on my dads bike, when I got it back I could not get him off it, he rode round showing all his mates.

He says his plan is to do a couple of miles after work to get fit and loose weight, I gave him a good pat on the back and a big well done.

Cycling, you just got to love it.

Brilliant. Buying a bike and getting out and about with my other half is the best thing I've ever done!

Like your wife I was nervous and wasn't sure I could even remember how to ride a bike. Now I have to be dragged back inside before we end up 50 miles away without the energy to get home!

Long may your wife continue to enjoy it.

That's brill, I love my bikes just don't get enough time to ride as much as I want. I only started cycling when I got my very first bike for my 50th Birthday 2 years ago.

Well done to you and your missus. Think my wife has a secret inkling to get out on two wheels with me. Last time she was on a bike was before Des O'Connor was orange. Going to borrow my nieces bike so my better half can have an experimental tootle and see how she fares. If she feels she likes it and wants to continue will look at purchasing a suitable bike for her so we can continue our cycling adventures together............................well on some days. ^_^
