Where I live the law allows two riders abreast (that will probably get captioned).

On a group ride they were bunched up at a light. Then it took awhile for them to get sorted out as they crossed. And then the lights of the police car went on. They got away with just a warning.

What do you think?

Here for rides.
I think policemen often don't understand the intricacies of highway law as it applies to cyclists, often overstep the mark in their dealings with them as a result, and generally issue warnings, rather than tickets, when it dawns on them that they can't actually think of anything that would stick if they charged the cyclists with the supposed crime or misdemeanour.

Same on both sides of the pond.

I wonder if this thread is going to run into 27 pages, like mine did, and still does, unexpectedly, on a very similar subject.2IT, the wolves on this forum are going to tear you apart now for just mentioning riding two abreast, good luck.

A very lopsided view of your thread and no real similarly in the situations at all.

Here a cop has perceived a minor legal misdemeanor of bunched riders, had the patience and empathy to listen to why they were more than 2 abreast just at that moment, took an understanding, low key approach & everyone went on their way.

Edit: just as a afterthought. Maybe you should go back and have your say in that thread rather than try to spike others.
