Not pavement parking but certainly inconsiderate parking , on double yellow lines and completely blocking a clearly marked cycle lane. ( it’s a one-way street, Chelmsford ).
I hung around for a few moments and challenged the driver when he returned to his car. Surprise surprise, he was a Deliveroo guy and was clutching a couple of bags he’d just collected to be delivered.
He uttered a few swear words at me !
And, when I got home I checked on the DVLA website and it shows that the Toyota is not taxed. It pleased me to use the DVLA’s website facility to report this untaxed vehicle.

i would hazard a guess than 99 % of these delivery drivers for any company that are classed as self employed dont have the correct insurance,I have seen adverts for parcel delivery drivers with wages that seem ok till you work out running costs / fuel etc then correct insurance and i reckon its lower than minimum wage .Our local evri driver whos very good , he does evri. next and couple of others but is still in a van for a dog grooming set up .

Whist I get your point, adding business use to my insurance policy is pennies.

Fair enough I don't know exactly how much it is although I still think it stands as doesn't using the vehicle for business and not having the correct insurance invalidate it ?

Well yes - but the car park - such as it is - fills up very quickly and after that there are only the roads
not ideal when there are about 10 football pitches and 22 players will turn up to each one - mostly in their own cars

What to you expect them do to - ride a bike??????

or to be serious - maybe someone somewhere could plan some parking??

So they can run around for 90 minutes, but can't walk a few minutes to parking that will inconvenience no one?

It depends what you mean by “invalidate”. The insurer is still bound to cover third party liability costs but since you have breached the terms of the insurance contract they can cancel the policy and pursue you for the costs.

Niet. The moment you use a car for a purpose for which you are uninsured, eg, using it for work purposes with no business cover, you are uninsured, period. You carry the risk, not the insurer.

BITD I'd have seized the car and reported the driver to court for no insurance.

When Mrs DRM was working, we had her car insured with business use added as she would sometimes go from one site to another, sometimes with work related items, and/or another work colleague with her, it wasn't worth the risk being incorrectly covered for, iirc an extra £5 per year
