A laptop bought for a fiver in a charity shop. How do I turn the thing on?

I'd make sure that there isn't anything dodgy anywhere on the hard drive before taking it to a shop!

I just hope it has been 'wiped clean' like she said and there isn't anything dodgy on it!!

Well if there is, I have the receipt to prove I've only had it since the 2nd of November.

it's about the same age as my laptop which is running W10 quite happily

The screen is just over 8.5 inches wide. My current laptop is 10 inches wide. I don't mind as I'm ok with small screens.
