Can I just clarify- if you go onto the NHS website the lead page has not yet been updated to change it from 64 to over 59 yet... if you click through the pages you then enter your date of birth and it then gives you the option of which vaccination centre you prefer, click on that and it then gives you date options for your first and second jab and sends you a confirmation of both.

You can wait for a letter from your GP but booking on-line saves the NHS the admin and postage.

[Edit: you can choose not to have the vaccine... any other terms and conditions I need to add?]

As a 60 year old I won't be taking up their offer.👎

Why?

Not necessarily. The day the over 65s went live on the same site I booked my vaccine appointment. The following day the NHS invitation letter arrived.

Yet you are happy to sit in a confined space with 3-4 acquaintances which is against the current rules, unfortunately it is mentality such as this will mean that everybody is in for a jab every year for many years to come. The end of the human race will not be an Asteroid, but it's own doing.
Maybe he's just exercising his right to chose what he wants to do with his own body.

That's unfortunate... ah well, best laid plans... they were efficient!

A. Because Covid19 doesn't exist.

B. Because the jab is a way for THEM to put tiny transmitters inside you so they can spy on him.

C. Because it changes your DNA and turns people into alien lizard people .
D. All the above

Without me knowing my wife tried this, they told her I would have to wait for them to contact me & they wouldn't do me at the same time, not that I am concerned I will have mine when my name is called, not bothered about queue jumping.
Yes, wifey got that response, so didn't book her slot till I had my letter. I told her not to be daft and get her's booked and I would wait. She went back on the phone, spoke to someone different, and got us both booked in.
Think it's luck of the draw.

I used this to book mine (65 next birthday) - very easy process.

First is this Friday coming and second is 17 May.

Not sure why this system preempts any contact from my GP?

My GP is not sending out appointments or making contact. I was surprised as I always get a flu jab notification by text. It may be this method is to ensure those who don't know their GP Practice position can take the initiative.

Word went round my little village like wildfire. The over 65s, including me, were falling over each other to get a jab!! 😂

How many of you are in favour of compulsory vaccination? Whether it be compulsory by 'shame them','no vax,no entry,or by actual force.
More a case of why wouldn't you want to be vaccinated- takes away the risk of serious illness, including long Covid [which is life-changing] and dying from unknown existing condition complications.

I would not force, that is make it a legal requirement, people to be vaccinated. However I have no problem whatsoever with the idea proof of vaccination might be required as a condition of employment, entry to a pub, cafe, cinema etc.

My view throughout the entire crisis has been we all have a responsibility to each other and society to help control Covid-19. By looking after myself, the vaccine being one of many ways, I protect my own health and contribute to protecting others.

I wouldn't criticise anyone for not having the jab. I do though believe it is irresponsible not to look after one's own health and is a failure to help society.

If someone is happy to risk death or significant long-term health issues so be it. Don't complain though about anything connected to the NHS.
