In a little over 2 months I have gone from 24stone 9lbs to 19stone 8lbs.
Now I originally got my bike just to get fit knowing losing weight would be a by product of that however now I am not getting out of breath a lot my main goal is losing weight. I decided 1 month ago to set myself a goal (15stone) I am 6ft 4
I am now looking for advice from anyone else who has done there weight loss from cycling and what foods they ate.
I am currently living on fruit and salad (usually chicken on fish) however I am constantly hungry.
Any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi Cupra having lost 8st 10 lbs but not all by cycling I think you need to increase the veg and add more meat into the diet you are using, all you need to do is remove all the fat you can from it (I usualy check every packet on display at the supermarket and get the ones with the least fat) use oven chips or better still (if you can afford one)one of those fryers that only use a spoon full of oil to do chips etc.Be careful on the fruit don't eat to much more so bannanas and avoid smoothies like the plague ! If you are hungry then eat more veg to help fill yourself up it worked ok for me.

I reckon you can pretty much eat as much as you want of veg, fruit, salad or lean meat and still lose weight. Also eat some pasta with low fat sauces, tomato based for example.

Do more.
Eat all the veg you want, but like Ern1e said above, be careful with the fruit, some of it is FULL of sugar, and bananas can be bad unless you have one before or during a ride/workout. ( there's a case documented somewhere of a male eating loads of apples, but gaining weight!!!!)

Just be aware that some of the low fat stuff in the supermarket, may be low fat, but it's often full of sugar. Seeds and nuts are good to snack on if you like that kind of thing.

White meat and fish are great. Turkey is one of the best meats you can eat :-) and don't eat touch tuna because of the mercury content!

Home made wedges:

mountain of potato wedges, smigdin of olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic, herbs of choice. Wack in the oven on a baking tray at 225C for 20/30 minutes - you will never buy oven chip again!

Well done my friend top marks for the achievement keep it up..

Have a little read up on pealo diet it is very extreme but this will give you some good pointers what to eat and what's bad for you. I'm not saying do it as its very hard to stick to it

But it's all about eating lean meats veg and nuts NO farm produced products like bread pasta this will help you in a big way as you could eat eggs for breckfast two chicken breasts+veg for your dinner say fish for tea a with green veg and use sweet potatoes instead of normal! Well done keep up the hard work

This.

It's hard when you first get into it, but it will help by making you change your lifestyle, and make maintaining your losses much easier.

Firstly well done mate!

I have lost a similar amount. I try to eat regular healthy meals and gave up the booze (not that I was a big drinker anyway).
Key thing - Cycle loads

Well done on the weight loss @Cupra
5 stone in just over 2 months seems to me a bit too fast, though.
Eat a bit more of low fat, low sugar foods.
Doing a lot of cycling you need some carbos as well.
Maybe the health and fitness guys could advice you so that you don't put the weight back on once you relax the diet.
Good luck, enjoy your rides!
