Admittedly small fry compared to lots of you good peeps but my longest ever ride and I'm pretty chuffed!

Went from Warrington to Holmes Chapel, Jodrell Bank and back via Chelford. Lovely evening and I'm knackered.

Nice one! what was your outbound route? me and CalibanZwei just completed a very similar run ourselves!

well done

It's a nice route. Hope you avoided the main roads.

The roads via Peover/ Lower Peover/ Over Peover !!! are great !!!

PS FOR NON LOCALS..... IT IS NOT PEE OVER.... IT IS PEEVER !!!!!

Causes lots of 'issues'............... hee hee

Great riding round there, and we do CC runs that way.

how is it Peever? it has an O in it, and yes we giggled as we went through it

Yeah, did my first 50 the other day - same journey except I added Congleton onto it.

Stu
Just wondering if you have done any more. Did a slightly shorter route today, took 3 hours, but it does seem a bit easier already. Only my second long journey.

Cool :-)

My route: Latchford High Level Bridge, CHester Road to Grappenhall on to A50 to Knutsford and Toft, then B5188 (the Peover road) to Byles, Moss Lane to Cranage, Holmes Chapel, Twemlow, Jodrell, Chelford on the A553 (I think), Knutsford again then rejoined the A50 all the way home.

Nice mix of roads.

44 is a cracking distance tbh, last sat i set 55 miles, a personal best, at about 45 miles i was flagging! but after a dinner stop at a nice but bloody slow cafe/tea room place i felt a bit more alive again and managed the ride home with enough in the tank to carry on, sadly time was not on my side (already late home that day lol)

Yeah I did a 54 on Monday (PB also), to be honest I found it less of a struggle than the 44 but that I reckon is coz I ate properly before and during, and also knew pretty much the whole route so was able to motivate myself with milestones.

It's definitely horses for courses, although personally after 10 miles I would eat a beetle if someone offered me a big juicy shelled one.
