29th of July 1981 - the day of Charles & Diana's wedding

ok inspired by another post mentioning this date reminded me what i did on the day can anybody else remember what they were doing ............

i traveled from Kidderminster to Wrexham to have a look at a Ford Escort Mk1 Mexico , which i didnt buy .......

There was a street party, being 15 I did not attend, way too cool for that sort of thing

Sat at home in Germany watching it with the Parents.
I was 9 years old.

I was living in Hong Kong and we had a party for the local ex-pats on a jetty below our apartment. All was going well, but there was spring tide, and the jetty was submerged under about 3 inches of water at high water. Not a problem, but quite surreal, as the Brits celebrated - seemingly walking on water. Was a great party and the first time I windsurfed.

Was on holiday with the parents in/on Anglesey. Was 14 and was more impressed by the Menai Bridge, the large column near Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgoliogogogoch (sp). Also saw Eddie Kidd perform.

I was sitting at home watching it with my mother who at the time only had six more days to live.

If our factory was open, I was working. If it wasn't, I might have gone 10 pin bowling, which is what I tended to do on my occasional days off. (I was working 300+ days a year then.)

Hitchhiked from Haverford West to Hyde. The roads were deserted for some reason. Took me all day.

I was at our sailing regatta selling ice creams in the club house.

13 and went to a fancy dress street party dressed as adam ant.

I was not even in double digits, I do remember I got a mug and a coin and the village had some sort of thing on the Donkey Derby Field.

Street party and I only remember getting 'done' by my grandma who gave me trouble for blowing up balloons and letting them deflate into my lungs.
