27 miles or 2 x 13.5?

I go for a regular ride to my inlaws, its 13.8ish miles the route i take (could be shorter but this is a nice run)

i have something to eat and an hour later i ride back. is this a 27mile ish run or 2 x 13.5ish runs? do i clear endomondo or pause it?

Nonsense. Days don't reset until you sleep, and on a long Audax, even that doesn't do it. Try telling someone that their 600km doesn't count as 600 coz they had a nap in a bus shelter.

And anyway, it doesn't matter. Just ride, and enjoy.

Linear or circular. It it the start to finish distance. Doesn't matter if you stop for a break(s) imho.

Generally, it doesn't matter, but that's why I asked what I asked.

If the question is "how many miles did you ride yesterday?", then it's 27.

If the question is "how far is your in laws?", then it's 13.5.

But mostly, it doesn't matter.

Surely it's 27 but what does it matter? It's the enjoyment that counts. I went from my house in Belfast to Whitehead and back. I stopped at Carrickfergus Castle to eat a sandwich I'd packed. On the way back I detoured round to the Titanic dry dock where they have a little tea & gift shop for a quick cuppa and a scone before heading home. As far as I'm concerned I cycled around 40 miles that day. I didn't cycle 15, 5, 20 and 5 miles that day.

Its all subjective and up to you David what you call it 27 miles on one day or two 13.5miles rides both are factually correct When I did my first 150miles, when I got home found I'd only cycled 147 miles, I was knackered though, so I rested and had my dinner and went out for 3 miles at night, so technically it was two rides of 147miles and 3 miles but I was still calling it 150miles

does the lenght of the stop affect what we call it? also where we stop?

so its somebodies house for 20 minutes is it 2 rides? but 25 minutes at the side of the road is 1 ride?
