I think Jorgesen was struggling a bit, he looked like he was finding it hard to hold the wheel on the one set of cobbles but you would still think they would have tried Benoot going up the road. The first mistake was Benoot trying to take Powless out the back when he was having a drink, he'd been doing his share until then but that gave him a perfect excuse to just sit in. Really pleased for him.

Powless won by more than a length, but Wout stopped pedalling well before the end.

Powless says in interview that he thought he was riding for second. 'Never thought in a million years I'd beat him in the sprint.'

I think they were more nervous than they ought to have been. If they'd worked Powless over properly until one of them had got away the speed wouldn't really have dropped.
