Just saw that, really sad, it seems to be on the last bit of road into town where the left lane is closed off, there must have been plenty of witnesses.

On a closed road event? Shocking! 😢
Terrible news indeed, from reading the news earlier it sounds like the deceased was in a collision after finishing the event. I thought we had ridden the same road, with the LHS heading into Inverness coned off for the event. The outgoing lane was for normal but one way traffic. There were loads of volunteers cheering and clapping.
Sad for his friends and family along with everyone involved.

Very sad news indeed. I was under the impression the rider was still in the event and had gone through the separation cones in to oncoming traffic. Either way, very tragic for all involved.

A chip time of 4 hours 40 minutes 1 second for me, but I prefer my Strava moving time of 4 hours 30 minutes
The climb was long, but you’re correct, there are steeper in Yorkshire

Yep, Strava saves you time 😃, 4:18 against 4:31!

From a witness to yesterday’s fatality, it sounds very much like the deceased had a seizure, resulting in him veering through the separation cones and colliding with the car 😥
