It's not that unusual ime & ho, I do & see this done often. When it's busy or if you're in an unfamiliar area often it's simpler & causes less hassle for other people to do a 180 at a roundabout rather than try & turn right.
If doing this manoeuvre then you really need to slowdown a little more & holding your right signal well passed the junction opposite your entry should hive other road users the information they need. Problem is people signal so badly these days half the time you just have to ignore them.
