As a follow up to this last question lads the cranks on my new set up are 172.5 my old Claris / FSA were 175 do I need to adjust my saddle height proportionally for this

Which way would you adjust it? Down? (because at the bottom of the stroke the pedal is 2.5mm lower) or up? (because at the the top of the stroke it is 2.5mm higher).

Tbh I'd leave it where it is. Get settled in with the new stuff and revisit saddle height later if you find it necessary.

You should adjust your saddle up 2.5mm as the distance you wish to maintain is the position of the leg when the pedal is at 6 o'clock (which with the 172.5mm cranks will be 2.5mm higher (cf BB)). This assumes you had your saddle at the 'right' height with the FSA 175s.
