Leverage as a verb has had a much more specific meaning for at least 40 years in the finance sector.

A "leveraged lease" doesn't just mean one that's been used ...

I’m aware of the term in finance. It was bad enough there but it appears it’s found it’s way into tech*, where it seems to use mean “use“ with an extra sense of getting the most out of something, using it optimally.

What it really means is “Please smile and ignore me, I’m an idiot without a clue what I’m talking about“

*for which crime Dante I’m sure would have reserved the Ninth circle, had he but known about it! Especially if they pronounce it to rhyme with beverage!
