Hi I'm in the process of replacing my gear and brake cables, frst time I've done this. I have fitted The front derailleur cable but have not attached to the front mech. I thought I'd check that when changed gear, it actually pulled the cable, it didn't. Is that normal ? They are ST5800...

Im just about to order my geared hub, but are getting a little confused with what does or doesnt come with the hub. I want to use a rapid fire flat bar shifter, 20t gear. What else do I need to make it work, cables external mech etc?

I might want to swap a 6 speed MTB rear wheel into a frame which currently has a 5 speed freewheel and 5 speed SIS handlebar shifter. Apart from me not being able to use all six rear gears, will the 5 speed indexing still work ok on the 6 speed freewheel or are the sprocket spacings different?
