For reasons I won't bore you with I need to get a mech that will reliably shift a set of TA Specialities 61/46 rings. Becasue the rest of the bike is Campag it needs to be too (they're on an old 135BCD Chorus crank that I'm assuming is 8-speed, but I guess could be 9 (but it just has a shield...
The kids are on their own... (well followme tandem, which is frankly brilliant!)
So the equally brilliant weeride is up for grabs

Did a quick search but couldn't see anything - my front wheel has developed a vibration, like I'm going over a bump once per revolution. It's quite noticeable and I'm a bit worried cos I'm going on a long (for me) organised ride on Saturday. I've just swapped back to 32c Gatorskins from my much...
Bought some second hand wheels recently. Spin well and seem mostly trued, but when I went for first ride on them today there was quite an annoying rotational click from the front one. I thought it might be to do with the set up of the bike - catching on frame or brakes - so I then tried it on...
A couple of nights ago somebody broke into my neighbour's house and stole is car keys and mobile phone.
He said they prised his front door open with a couple of screwdrivers. Is this possible? It's a UPVC front door with multi-locking points, just like my backdoor.
For various reasons too boring to go into, I've got a spare set of Chromoly front forks for a quill stem, 26" wheel.
One of our kids bikes is a small framed aluminium fishtail. It's okay, but all the boys say the suspension forks raise the handlebars too high and make it a less comfortable...
On my way in this morning the chain hopped off the front crank, now I can’t get it to shift to the large crank.
How do I adjust, sorry for the probably silly question but I leave gear adjustment to the pros usually.
Edit: when I lean the bike over towards the side with the gears it’s will...
Considering fixing a front rack onto my carrera Crossfire 2 hybrid bike - any suggestions Re fixings as the fork (see pictures attached) as no eyelets - but does have a bolt @ the bottom ? Also mudguard eyelet space available - apologies I’m a rookie don’t know the correct “bike terms” yet. -...
Hello all,
I am thinking of converting my double to a single. Other than buying a new rear cog and front and removing the gear set up, is there much else involved I have not thought of?
Thanks
Hi all...
Quick question if you can help me…
I noticed this morning that when I applied the brakes on my Scott Sub Cross 10 2018 the front wheel seems to pull/kicks to the left slightly when you look at the top of the wheel from the riding position, not much but you can see it…
When I got...
does any one know who sells this style of front rack ? I’ve looked around and not found one yet , would be handy of my North of England tour ‘
Edit, Found some , they appear to classed as ’ Porteur’ racks ,
After using the cannondale supersix for a week after cable snapped on other bike i have been getting loads of clicking from the headset area when im on the hoods but dont get any when on the drops, is it more likely to be the top bearing?
All in excellent condition.
At present the Son Schmidt dynamo hub is still a complete wheel.
I am having some new wheels built up next week, will dismantle the hub from the rim at that point.
£110 posted , 36 hole hub.
In the unlikely event that someone wants the wheel built up as it is, it...
Looking for a 57mm drop front brake, not bothered about aesthtics as it's for the commuter, just needs to be in working order.
Anyone got one they want rid of before I go and look on the bay of e? I see there's a set in the for sale section here, but I only need the front.
Cheers.
I'm not very optimistic but I thought I would ask - anyone know of a way of getting a front rack on a bike without the eyelets for it? I've got a B'twin Triban 3 which just has mounts for mudguards and that's it. Any suggestions? Thanks :)
Hi - have a frameset (looking to move on for someone in poor health) on which the front dropouts won't accommodate the hub - it's not an issue with width/fork, its the little slots the hub drops into. Is it a case of file a few mm off so they drop in?
Made the brackets for this today and if what I have in my head actually works (always debatable!!) by the end of this coming week I'll have proper front and rear indicators on the QNT. We'll see! I'll update as I go..
I was testing the gears on my brand new Cannondale Synapse whilst it was in the workstand before I rode it. I noticed that the chain was rubbing on front derailer when it was in the smallest chainset and smallest sprocket on the cassette. It is perfect in other gears.
Is there something...
In anticipation of a fairing arriving in the next few days I needed to relocate my front lights. Had a bit of free time this morning so I manufactured a couple of brackets from some old bits of aluminium tube I had lying around the workshop and an old M10 bolt. They're designed to attach to the...
Folks, I'm looking for a used fairing for a 2009 QNT. Which of the various fairings should I be looking for, please? What are your experiences with them.
Trike is being ridden primarily on the Isle of Wight and it can get windy along Military Road! Last week my wig took off and reportedly...
I was greeted by a loud bang on a front upshift three miles in to this morning's club ride. It completed the shift leaving me in the big ring but with significant rubbing and the noise that goes with it. I figured the mech had moved slightly due to a loose bolt or similar so shifted back down...
Just picked up my first trike, it's a KMX had to pull the front boom out but the front derailleur cable is pulling, can you get longer one's:) it's using a Microsoft idmf that makes a difference")
