Also a Rose and a Violet, but they weren't in many episodes. Onslow was the best character, played by the late but still great Eddie Yates (Geoffrey Hughes)

I remember watching an episode with Ian Lavender in it (Pike from Dad's Army) when he like 60 years old. It was a bit jarring because I hadn't seen him since he was about 20. I suddenly realized how bloody old I am too.

On a similar vein wild at heart Hayley mills voice from a mature person when I'm used to seeing her in black and white as a sprog

I went on holiday and asked my friend to look after my cat while I was away.
After a few days I called him up and asked how everything was going.
He said "Your cat's dead".
"What?"
"Your cat is dead, It fell off the roof".
I told him he should have broken the news more thoughtfully.
"What do you mean?"
"Well you could have said the cat was stuck on the roof..."
"then you could have said the fire department couldn't get it down..."
"and finally said it fell off and died."
Then I asked if there was any other news.
He thought for a few seconds and said "Your Mum's on the roof"

I had forgotten about Violet. She was the one with the Mercedes and room for a pony.

I can only imagine their parents liked flowers!
