    Cleat wedges

Hia, I was going about my bike fit yesterday and noticed that after a few minutes of semi-intense pedalling the outside of my right foot started aching, the left followed suit a short while after. Thought I'm doing something wrong but after a bit of searching found out that it's probably just...

The dreaded creak - pedals, chainring bolt, crank?

Well, when I say creak, that doesn't quite do it justice. I've got a noticeable sensation of play in the cranks/pedals under heavy load, once per crank revolution, if I had to say at about 5 and 7 o'clock (viewed from driveside). Not so drastic as chain slipping, but unpleasant, and the...

    Click'r pedals

Hi All Having had hip surgery I am currently using half toe clips rather than clipless SPD pedals. Prior to this I've used clipless for 25 years (A520s). I am looking to get back to clipless but want very easy release. I always used the A520s on the loosest setting anyway so am considering...

    Touring pedals

I'm after a set of pedals with flats on one side and clipless SPD on the other. It's for a 90s mtb skip find I'm doing up as a tourer, so I'm trying to do the whole build eco style by buying as few new parts as possible

Built-up pedals with different leg lengths?

Hi everyone, over the last year, I have become a regular cyclist and have moved to off-road and gone back to mountain biking - lots of fun! Due to an accident many years ago, I have odd lengths legs (Approx 20mm) and wear a build up on one shoe. Giving the bike a check over and I noticed that...

    Flat Pedals For A Roadbike

I've got a CF Roadbike which came with toe straps so I chucked on a spare set of flat MTB pedals I had lying around. I want flats on all of my bikes just for consistency (so I don't have to try and remember which type I have when I go to put my foot on the floor). The MTB pedals look a bit...

    Folding pedals failure.

The bike is only a week old, took it for a spin, and the folding pedal broke and folded, as long as right way around it still worked, and so since an e-bike with max assistance got home, located a replacement left pedal, went and got it fitted then the right one also failed. It it just I am...

Replacing SPD cleat... replace pedals too?

Hi, I've done about 4,000k on my current SPD cleats and pedals and they feel very "floaty" now. Like my foot moves around a lot on them. I was going to replace to cleats as they look worn but should I replace the pedals too? How long do they typically last?

MTB pedals on a road bike - should I change?

So I put mtb pedals on my road bike last year, first time with clipped in. Like them and did this as wanted to be able to walk easier when not riding. However this year I have noticed the outside of my right foot will ache at around 10-15 miles. Nothing too bad but enough for slight discomfort...

I think my pedals are finally ready to retire

Set of m520s i have had a long time , so long in fact that the cleat tension screw on one side is jammed and no amount of soaking or brute force can i adjust it . One side is loose and the other side is at maximum tension so its a fun lottery to guess which side i will be getting .

    Could this replace SPD pedals?

Some of you might already be aware of Pitbull pedals, they’ve been around for a while. What does everyone think? Real advantage or dead end? http://pitbullbikepedal.com/ View: https://youtu.be/Eg4_auscvo0

Removing pedals - is this as simple as it looks?

Hi all - I have a Raleigh Motus ebike and as I ride it on Canal paths a lot it gets dirty - especially in winter I can take the wheels off easily and clean the chain and gears - but the front cog is a problem as I can;t get to most of it. The Chain guard needs to be removed to get to it and the...

Switching from SPD’s to flat pedals

I’ve been mainly using spd pedals on my road bikes for quite a long time. The exceptions were my Brompton and an elephant bike - both used for short and slow trips. I like spds and have no trouble using them, with one important caveat. After about two hours, my feet in the area of the cleat...

    China play pedals

After watching TraceVelo talk about some imitation speed play pedals I have decided to give them a whirl to see what they are like. Struggling to remove pedals

I installed some shimano M520 pedals on my 105 cranks 5 years ago and haven't touched them since. I've been trying to remove them for the past week on and off - I've soaked them in WD40 daily, but they won't budge at all. I've been using this spanner: but seem to have bent one of the arms in...

Pedals for Trek DS2 help with legal regulations.

Hi all, I recently bought a Trek DS2 and as with most bikes, the pedals are just ok but not great. I was just going to order the much better Bontrager pedals in the same colour as my bike when I read about the law that riding a bike when it gets dark must have reflectors on. now I will not be...

    French Thread Pedals

Hi all, I recently picked up a Peugeot PBN10 racing bike from the early eighties, with branded cranks which look ideal.
