I’d be up for any one of those destinations. I’ve never been to any of the suggested places but the warmest with smoothest roads gets my vote!

If we could work this out right we could get a couple of trips a year in and I could still keep the missus sweet!

How would you want to do it, by supported tour like 'Tenerife bike Training' or freelance?

My preference is supported, because they do all the transfers, hotel bookings, routes and know the cafes and support en route.

The hotel is plenty big enough, lovely food near to coast

February into March are the most popular months, because UK weather is generally still crap and cold. It's also early enough to keep you well trained over winter.

Mallorca during the summer months is too hot. I have done it several times but have riden from sunrise (6:30 - 7 AM) to 9 or 10 AM.
Canaries is good all year. Been to Gran Canaria several times. Great weather, great roads and not very windy.

I’ve heard lots of good things about Majorca. Mainly that the roads are fantastic as is the weather. Isn’t it turning into a bit of cycling Mecca?

But I’d happily commit to doing both places and I don’t have a preference for which I do first.

I wouldn't want to go in the summer I don't do well with heat (looked at forcast for june in the Pyrenees  but it's a long time till then) and I do like the idea of supported just incase of any problems but would the cost be less if we was to book a villa? Throwing ideas out there.
both places are on my to do list but I really don't think I could do 2 in a year the wife and nipper would want a holiday (shocking).

Cracking times boys, stage 4. :okay: .

@Breedon If the base of the mountan is hot it can be totally different half way or at the top. Can be freezing. Saying that, a ride leader said last year Alp dHuez was scorching all the way up. That's why it's best to book earlier in the year so average weather suits us northern wallers:laugh:

If only I could have held on to your group I may have got a similar time, but that KOM was too fast for me. About 6km from the finish was it? I felt OK in that group until then. When your group dropped me I joined a few stragglers and a few who came storming from behind and we had a nice fast few km :okay:

just got back from the pub for my thurs shandy - not nice hopping about with cramp amongst strangers !!
pleased with only losing a bit on that course , tried to keep with a group but i wasnt strong enough so i was on my own for a bit
maybe if we had all rode together the time would have been quicker but i think the result would have been the same . Andy would certainly have out sprinted me . me and Dean would have been a good one !
