No spoilers please - it could be some time before I catch up on races this season due to the rip-off TNT price!!

I watched a live Italian channel via our favourite video channel. I then mirrored the screen onto the television

@mjd1988 and I are both big fans of the Cleva Vacmaster fans. Sometimes the remote-controlled one is less than £99, but the simpler model is also good and seems to be £59 everywhere.
I remember looking at those when I ordered the trainer in December. They seem to be very effective but some of the videos on YouTube make them sound pretty loud! It could be that the mics were placed too close to the airflow?

How loud do you find it on levels 1/2/3? Would you have to raise your voice to talk over it?

I could avoid the turbo and fan noise issue by using earbuds when on the trainer but I'd rather listen on speakers because my ears sweat!

It’s very quiet - quite a bit quieter for the equivalent cooling effect than my rotary fan. I tried downloading a decibel meter for my iPhone but the readings are very noisy (excuse the pun) and not very consistent - I think the readings are highly dependent on the position and direction of the microphone - so I can’t give you objective data!

You wont care how loud the fans are when working hard,

you will just want to be cooled ^_^

I have an enormous fan that moves air all over my body, my son has two cheap pedestal fans one for his upper torso/head and another aimed at his midriff.

Both do a good job of sweat evaporation, like you get from moving through the air whilst riding outside.

I think the Zwift bike missed an opportunity, they could have made it a belt drive to avoid chain noise, if you have a dedicated turbo bike with virtual shifting (stays on one cog at the rear) belt drive chain rings and cogs are available, but of course any mods are an extra cost, but if that is not a problem, it's worth considering to eliminate drive train noise.

It probably is quieter, but is it that much quieter? Chain has perfect alignment, would it be heard over the noise of cooling fans and music?

I know I cant hear mine on a conventional 2 * 11 cassette setup.

Also it makes the frame far more complicated to construct with a split rear triangle, to remove the belt drive if it ever became worn or damaged

Agreed. V quiet a low levels and when it's at top level I generally don't care, although I would have music playing anyway

Top level on all three fans for racing. It's a bit louder, but you can hear on my videos that it's not too bad.
I have three normal domestic "desk" fans like you can buy in Wickes/Homebase etc for about £20. I can reach two of them with my patented remote control (aka a stick) but the third is on a WiFi plug socket.

When free riding I don't usually have them on max as it's not needed. I only ride with music when I'm not racing, as YouTube will nuke me for a copyright strike if I stream with music on. Plus with race vids I like game sound effects and breathing sound and commentary (very sweary yesterday). And Andy would be devastated if my burps were not caught in audio

I use one of these, it has a three speed switch on the back which I removed and extended with a 7 core cable, it is now a remote control switch with a magnet on the back, I can place it on any handy magnetic surface, at the moment this is at the back of the treadmill accessible when on the bike, I move it to the front of the treadmill when running (shuffling) at the moment I am bed bound with a trapped nerve in my back, resulting in a very painfull leg, can't get to use my new Specialized S Works Tarmac SL8 with Zipp wheels on Zwift, but I did watch MSR live, which wouldn't have happened if I was fit.

I just signed up to the Cleva mailing list to get the 10% discount and will probably order a remote controlled fan this evening**.

I like my discount code - CLEVACLOGS!

** PS Why wait? I just ordered one for £89.99!

I will take my DIY tablet holder off its tripod and use the tripod to mount the fan instead to be able to freely adjust the orientation of it.

I will make something to attach the tablet holder to the handlebar.

I looked at the Zwift bike setup. The extra tensioner gear redirects the chain drive over the bottom chain stay, eliminating the need to have a rear triangle with a split. So yes, you could fit a belt drive for more quiet drive.
