I got an email from DHL today saying that they will soon pick up my Victory from the warehouse and will be in touch to schedule delivery!

The parcel weighs ~30 kg. After waiting 3+ months for it, I hope that I don't discover that someone has dropped it!

It's why I've always tried to do the surge/recover in Zwift races (where there is no climb), but then maybe that's what durability is, the ability to recover and be a little more fresh after a little dig?
Interesting article for sure.

That's repeatability. I think he said in the video that durability and repeatability are not the same thing.

In fact he showed a workout that was for both, with about 5 or 6 intervals. 3 or 4 near the start, then ride for an hour or two and do the last two.

Durability is being able to still have your finish sprint at the end of the race when it's been a hard race.
How many of us have had the situation since ZRS came in that we've had to work so hard to stay on that there's been nothing left for a sprint at the end? ===> THAT.

Whether that's after 40 minutes, an hour or two hours - scaled for our poxy level of ability.

There's no question that riding longer races improved my ability to do a sprint at the end of our TTR last week after a hard hour and a punchy climb.

Ah, ok, makes sense 👍

You've been waiting in for three months. What's a little longer?
I once saw a dodgy scrap dealer ahead of me on a local descent suddenly stop dead because he had spotted a baby buggy*** on the pavement outside a front door. A shaven-headed youth leapt out, grabbed it, and threw it onto a pile of new-looking buggies, scooters, and bikes on the back of the truck. They then screeched off before I could get to them and read the number plate. I think they were just nicking everything that they could see that wasn't locked down!

My sister once put her electric mower on her lawn, then took the cable indoors to plug it in. Before she even reached the power socket the plug was pulled from her hands! She ran back out and caught 2 scrap guys trying to take it. They claimed that they thought it had been left out for them! Yeah, right, and the plug and cable going into the house...?

NOBODY gets to nick my trainer off my doorstep!

Confusing messages from DHL...

I just nipped out to the shops and checked my email when I got home. There was a message from them saying that they have the parcel and would try to deliver today. I followed the tracking link and got a message saying that they do NOT have the parcel!

It is annoying because it a lovely sunny day here so I want to go out on my bike but I dare not, just in case...

I will probably sit in all day waiting and be disappointed, then have the same situation tomorrow on another sunny day for which I had planned a hilly 50 km ride (1,000+ m of elevation gain).

Hopefully , they forgot to update the tracking and the parcel DOES turn up today.

PS Bloody schoolkids! There was just a loud knock at the door so I thought that DHL were here. I opened the door and saw a bunch of cackling teenagers running off...

Rereading DHL's conflicting emails and status reports, I think that they got the parcel this morning and announced fhat they would deliver if today, but for some reason it didn't end up on the van for today's delivery round. Perhaps it is too heavy for the driver?!
Probably correct with larger heavier parcels the companys sometimes sub them out to independents
