You can get highlights from YouTube and there is often live streaming from someone. I watched live the last 20k of the women's event.

Then several minutes live of the mens just before it finished. Followed it up with the excitement at several points from highlights.

I'm not paying the silly monthly subscription from Discovery+ to watch cycling. I'd rather wait for highlights or some obscure live feed
I think all the cycling is on TNT now isn't it?

People miss the point of Zwift completely. It's nothing to do with cycling. It's all about the whinge.

(Same with other companies e.g. Ryanair)

That is true - I do like a good moan when I'm bored haha

The delayed delivery of the trainer means that I will only get about 2.5 weeks of free access on TPV so I will have to get stuck in to give that a good trial.

When TPV goes to premium Training Peaks members only in April I will change to Zwift and use the 2 months access that I get with the Victory.

At the end of the Zwift trial I will decide between TPV and Zwift , or if I really like both, perhaps even sign up to them both?

You also have MyWhoosh which is free - I'll be giving that a go once I've the OK from the docs to get on a bike.

Only thing is, I will be using a singlespeed bike on the trainer so I need support for virtual shifting, which I don't think that MyWhoosh supports?

Coming in version 4.0 - releasing tomorrow.

MyShift - Virtual Shifting
New UI/UX (big changes in workouts)
V2 of Bunch Dynamics
Web-based Workout Creator that can build, import and export workouts
New Garage Stuff
Dynamic Roads for Events (like RGT / BKOOL where you can ride your own GPX file data)
Speed Sensor and Classic Trainer Support (free ride and workout only (thank God!))
New Training Plans
Triathlon Mode for Events
Bug fixes and general improvements

Got to thank @alex_cycles for this morning's DIRT Team Time Race.

My first race back since pneumonia. Only my 2nd race since Christmas!

The first 20kms were just like a Zone 2 recovery ride, except for the intermediate sprint that we decided to have just before the desert village.

Felt ok, but just not quite fit enough to hold it on the volcano climb. We had to wait for our 4th rider anyway, so that was pretty much my race done.

Felt surprisingly ok on the reverse KoM and even celebrated with something that felt a bit like a sprint at the finish line.

I think I'd have struggled a lot more in a scratch or points race, but it's another step forward!

It was a lot of fun with a nice easy start. The Mittens caught us all by surprise in the desert. I was busy trying to figure out which member of my team was making a robotic voice noise on the discord channel so I could turn their volume down. Then someone called out that "Bikes and Beer going off the front" so we all had to chase for a bit. There was no way that was going to stick though and the group closed it down quite quickly.

Even the volcano felt like it was at a sensible pace. We didn't think we'd get away there and even if we did, we thought we'd be caught, so it was better to save the weebles for the final punch.

I thoroughly enjoyed that. I said at the start of my video how I thought it would go. "It'll be won on the Zwift KoM rev" and it was.
I did a 3, 2, 1 countdown half way up and we lit the after-burners.

Well done Alex - good race again.

Interesting that no team really went hard up the volcano KOM in your race - I guess no one felt confident they had enough strength in depth for that length of climb. But anyway, you definitley made the right call for your team to go on the Zwift KOM instead.

Looking forward to seeing whether our race pans out any differently later

We didn't think it worth trying to break away on the Volcano because we figured we'd get caught so it would be a waste of beans.
Pre-race data showed 4 teams with a 4th rider very close together in terms of 8 minute w/kg so it's not likely we could have gained a 30s gap or something like that.

I think they smashed the crap out of the Volcano in 7 minutes in the Emerald/Sapphire race though. So that was completely different

yeah I noticed that - would like to see a video of that race and see how split up it got on the climb but I can't find one!
