Great start - @mjd1988 don't know if you've seen but we topped the league in stage 1 even with our bare minimum 4 riders :bravo:

I assume from what you said about your team's finishing positions after your race that you also topped your league @alex_cycles ?

Yes we've got a nice little 42 point lead over Coalition in the Total Points score which might be handy in the event of a League Points tie, but hopefully we can keep winning

Been off the apps since mid Jan (Zwift subs ended on 16th Jan). Busy at work, and gym has taken over my fitness. Just not been motivated to get on the bike. Hadn't realised until yesterday that it's been nearly 2 months since my last online ride

I used to just jump on, even for a short spin, because there was always something of interest on Zwift - I'm think, because I haven't had this same drive to get on to TPV that it's just not as engaging for me for some reason.
I have 25km free for Zwift so going to jump on this weekend if I can find an hour and see if I can get some mojo back. If this works and I think I'll use it again more than twice a week, I may even sign up again
I did weigh myself yesterday, and despite no cycling and lots of gym (I'm getting more jacked!) I haven't actually put on any weight. I've been very careful about what I'm eating so that probably helps.
In the past 2 months, what have I missed on Zwift? I saw the new challenge, which definitely peeks my interest. Anything else? Any updates to the racing score, or has it now stabilised? I almost feel like a newby again lol

TdZ was fun. Racing Score is slowly improving with more data, but still not where it needs to be yet.

DRS using vELO Cats and Chasing Tour (now called ECRO) is where it's at currently for me. Chasing Bianche tomorrow morning kicks off the series. That'll be a hard 2 hours, probably.

Other than that, not a lot really, but it's only been 6 weeks or so? How's the new job?

New job is a bit slow, but sees me in Brum 1-2 days a week so that's impacting my available time at home (especially as I leave at 5am on the way, and don't get back until 8pm when I come home). My gf lives in Brum so that helps a little tbf, so if I stay over at hers we can at least hit the gym together (although no chance to ride unfortunately).

Just need to plan my time better if I'm going to get back on the bike. Contract is until June 2026 so I will need to work out how to balance work, gym and riding!

I'm expecting my cardio fitness to be down so will be a shock to system when I get back on the bike. I'm hoping to find an hour in the morning to do the free 25km. If I do re-sign back up, I don't think I'll jump back into racing straight away as I'll be waaay down the rankings so will try to get some semblance of fitness back first.

Seem to be falling apart from one issue to another. Having slowly got over my cold/chest infection of nearly 3 weeks. That left me with back issue and sciatica, which got slowly better with more movement. Then after feeling better I said I would do my lads improved ventilation in his ensuite. Unfortunately its left me with housemaids knee from crawling around on roof trusses, now hobbling around. I've just ridden for 15mins to see if gentle spin eases the discomfort. :cursing:

So to recap don't go to big events with thousands of people, it ruins Zwifting for weeks

There is absolutely no danger of me doing that - I hate crowds!

4 times a year though I catch often-crowded trains to and from Devon.

I used to go to the Costa Blanca and ride 1,200 hard km in 2 weeks every spring. That would tire me out and lower my immunity to the bugs that I would be exposed to on the packed flights home. Every single time I was ill for 1-2 weeks when back in Yorkshire. That enforced rest used to do me good though - I always felt really fit about 2 weeks after getting well again.

I found it similar for me. Really liked tpv but I don't tend to plan rides in advance, on zwift you can just jump on something so easy and nowhere else has that density of riders on it. The dirt racing series has been good for motivation as well

I thought I'd just jump on TPV but it hasn't had the draw, and like you, I rarely plan in advance. I'll think an hour before, I'll ride at (say) 17:30 then sees what's on and if nothing maybe a bot ride or climbing portal. Just not done the same with TPV - given it's still free and very Zwift-like, it's actually surprised me.
I may have to go back through the posts and update them, to show my utmost support of Zwift and the justified price gauge increase haha

People miss the point of Zwift completely. It's nothing to do with cycling. It's all about the whinge.
