So how did it go for Team CCC last night in the ZRL?

A really solid team performance for the Splitters B team with everyone scoring well, put us 3rd on the night - we were actualy equal with the 2nd placed team but were placed 3rd because tehy beat us by just 3 points on finishing points.

I think we're assured 2nd place in the league now - we still have an outside chance of winning as we're only 5 points off top spot but it would need a bit of a collapse in form from the first placed team for that to happen to be honest!

My race went OK - I got 4th FAL and FTS on Titans Grove, 8th FAL and 5th FTS in the sprint, and 11th at the finish. It was the Volcano climb finish that I was slightly disappointed with - I was 7 watts and 6 seconds off my PR on it which I did only 10 days ago. I was targeting FAL and FTS points there but finishing 11th meant I missed out on those - if I'd matched my time from a few days ago I'd have jumped up to 5th or 6th which I'd have been much happier with! But racing those earlier segments meant that was all I had left for the climb.

Not necessarily all but at least some Wahoo users are also paying customers for Zwift so that's why I think it won't happen. We'll see how this case proceed, probably no winners in this case.

Strava says that I have 9943km in this year, not for sure is it correct but I hope so, 57km today and 10000km is done.

Hard luck at the finish there - looked like you had 2nd place nailed until those last few metres. Those steep uphill finishes are torture when you can see the finish banner but it takes so long to get to because you're going so slow uphill! (Not that I think I was even looking at the screen at that point to be honest 😵‍💫!)

Yes it was looking quite good until the last little bit, then several "monsters" had the gall to still have something left for a sprint finish, whereas all I could do was maintain a mere 5 W/kg
Still my best ZRL result to-date though and all went to "plan A" which often doesn't happen. Based on power curve, I'd planned 261W up the Volcano and did 265W, so really can't complain if other people are a little better.

He just put on a burst of power. Pretty pointless, really because you then find yourself on the front and have to expend about 30% more energy than when you are drafting. But it is quite easy to overshoot like that when you make a surge of effort.

Given how far back he came from, I wonder if he wasn't concentrating at the start, felt like he was going to miss the group and so had to catch up rapidly and then as Alex says, overcompensated and ended up shooting past the pack unintentionally.

Oh Crit tonight. Big field with over 100 entrants on the start line. Held position in front pack, just lacked anything to go for a sprint. 18 th overall, but DQd for no HR . First technical issue I've had in a long while.

If you have no HR, I think you've got bigger problems than getting a DQ
