You were so close for the first sprint, there again, the pack could have been just waiting to pounce. Excellent race. How did your team do overall?

Not exactly sure yet, as the results/league tables haven't come out as yet. Your top 4 points scorers count though and our top 4 finishers came 9th, 24th, 32nd, and 38th (out of 59)

A couple of clips from my DIRT Racing series race from last night if anyone's interested.

- My solo attack for FAL points on lap 3 -

. Nearly worked! Got 9th so 5 points which to be fair is more than I think I'd have got if I'd waited for the sprint. To be honest I realised a few seconds into it I had gone too early, but I had no choice to just commit and hang on in there!

. In hindsight I should probably have saved my matches and tried the solo attack here when the sprinters were slightly more fatigued, but I didn't have the legs to try it again, and as you can see the watts were pretty high for the last KM anyway!

So close! We sent someone off on the last lap but they got swallowed up before the descent.

We had three sprinters last season but only I could make it for this race so had to play it safe and hammer down a consistent effort rather than try anything too interesting!

I do like the scoring structure of the dirt league compared to wtrl. Rewards primes but not to a ridiculous extent

I saw earlier that in your race someone did almost exactly the same as me with a solo break, but on the last lap for the finish - and for them it stuck!

With regards the scoring I know what you mean, but actually the primes give higher points than in the ZRL - 10 or 20 points for the winners like ZRL but higher points for the rest of the top 10 on each segment, so even 10th place gets 5 points. However it makes up for that by having a much more even spread of finishing points, rather than clumping them like ZRL does. E.g coming 20th at the finish gets you 65 points, whilst in ZRL it would be only 19. And there's more incentive to fight for final position wherever you finish.

ZRL is definitely weighted too heavily with FTS/FAL segment points.

I also like that there's no power-ups - makes for fairer racing. I think for a race there should either be no PU's at all, or everyone given the same at the same points, and then it's just down to when you tactically use them.

They did, just about. They timed it perfectly- there is video but not sure if you can really make out the end

The guy who won it posted his own video so this shows it from his perspective

Oh very interesting. He actually times the second last lap sprint quite poorly which meant on points he slipped back to 5th* overall. Mind you he did the race twice in one day so fair play

*Going purely with the zwiftpower points, can't remember if they are totally accurate but they don't look miles off

Yeah I noticed that "Primes" points column on ZP which appears to be finishing points plus segment points for each rider. Quite useful - I don't think that's been there in ZRL races?

Only thing is though, it doesn't look 100% accurate to me - not in my race anyway!

Yeah my points are slightly off but I like that they've automated something on zwiftpower. Hopefully results out soon
