I don't think it has, but will check.Hookless rims? Either way, sounds like it wasn't seated properly.
Sounds fun!FYI I am going to be creating some Club events in the run-up to the next ZRL season - while the original intention for these was so CCC riders could test their form and have a bit of an intra-team race, any and all CycleChat peeps are very welcome to sign up as well.
Just note that the C's aren't racing all the way from the gun to the finish line, although there's nothing to stop you from doing that. Instead we're probably going to have a bit of a glorified group ride for say the first 5-10km, maybe see who can set the fastest time on a sprint or other prime, practice some TTT formations, then group back together before finally having a race to a custom finish point. Happy for others to join in with us for these shenanigans, or if you want to just go full gas from the start and see who's the quickest out of the B's across the whole course, that's cool as well.
First one is probably going to be 23rd August, but thought I'd give everyone a heads-up so they can check their schedules before it appears on the Companion app.
@mjd1988 - I had a similar experience which resulted in the only mechanical where I haven’t been able to ride home. Was going down a slope (not a full on descent thankfully) at probs 25-30 mph and heard a bang, then the back of the bike went very slidey!
The rear tube had exploded down a seam. Tyre was cut up after becoming inseated and I ended up scuffing/scraping the wheel quite badly as I came to a stop. It had plenty of pretty sharp edges on it so didn’t even bother with a tube and got a train home.
Still puzzled as to why it happened - it wasn’t soon after seating the tyre, I wasn’t running low pressures, and I wasn’t running high pressure. No idea what the issue was to be honest but I’m hoping the tyre was just poorly seated and it burped when hitting a stone or something. The tube had split along a seam though so could have been a bad tube?
Random one today; mid ride, thankfully going uphill - hear a hiss of air, stop and see a little bit of the tyre has popped off the rim of the wheel. Able to deflate, pop it back on and inflate enough to limp home.
Likely a one off or bit of a worry? Tyre is v new, probably less than 200 miles on it. Wouldnt have overinflated the inner tube? Probably overthinking it, but had planned a pretty big ride later in week
Was this going up Church Road near Castlereagh? It’s a brute of a climb. And there I was thinking you’d got off to walk up 😂 I noticed your cycle on Strava - I work just opposite Church rd but thankfully I avoid that hill on my commute

Took a podium on Crit City.
I've been dragging myself around after Mondays weights session, I went too deep on lifting to failure.
To which I've been suffering with severe doms all over
I finished 5th, promoted to bronze, more than happy with absolutely dead legs
