This could be really really fun. Unfortunately though it does confirm it will be based on the category system rather than being able to mix cats. (Berty, Legs, time to start piling on that hibernation blubber!)

Maybe we should start a list of people who are interested? Also it might need a team manager of some sort?

I bought Garmin Edge 1030 plus earlier this year and i have now test it indoors as well with Zwift. Garmin's training effect gives good feedback about my rides especially aerobic and anaerobic advances. I think i'm gonna use it with Zwift from now on.

Sounds good. 7pm every Tuesday. TTT one week, scratch race the next.
Looking back over last few days I think we have interest confirmed from:-

@mjd1988
@<Tommy>
@bridgy
@Alongo
@bobinski

Not sure about @peterob @Del C @Norry1 @Spartak or @Brusgaard? I think that’s our active cchat B riders.

@Ketty did you try Team Irl? There’s a couple of chaps looking to form teams for C riders. Alternatively You’d be welcome to race with us as I’m sure there will be weeks when not everyone can make it. We even have enough for 2 ‘B’ teams if some of the chaps listed are up for it, and maybe @Whorty or @Joffey could be tempted?

Good call @<Tommy> on a team manager. It needs to be someone with a heartless nasty streak that doesn’t take excuses. I can think of one person who fits that bill 🤭😂

Did the Bologna TT today as part of the HERD race league. The graph below shows time difference vs my PB. Interesting that I was 15s up on the PB but lost 30s on the hill.
Todays av watts were 321 over the course compared to 317 on the PB.
The big difference was for today’s slower ride I rode a steady power through out whereas for the PB I followed GPLlama tactic that is to ride sub FTP (295) on the flat and then Above FTP (340) on the hill.
its counter intuitive tohold back on a TT but it shows it pays to push the big watts on a big climb.

I'd like to be registered on the team roster, but likely to be limited number of times I'm available to ride. I'm trying to do most of my riding outside and I've also started back with a coach - so needs to fit with my schedule.

Good going mate. I’m having a crack at 12. Can’t work out if it’s tt bikes?

Sorry Al but can't commit to racing for the foreseeable I'm afraid so count me out. I'll be checking on the team though and cheering you all on :bravo::bravo:

That’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever said to me😄.

Maybe have two teams (I think we can chop and change the rosters?). Make sure no one misses out coz it’s a pisser warming the bench! I can’t do the team manager bit. Flattered you think I’m qualified though (I think 🧐😄)

If you can be part of more than 1 team per league.

If you have more than ten riders register 3 teams so everyone is on a least 2 and almost guaranteed to get a ride, if they are available and want one.

I just did the same race. Don’t ask lee what his time was it’s not a very interesting story. Feel free to ask Paul ^_^.

Even after reading your write up, and telling myself not to go out too hard, what did I do?... It’s hard to pace these things isn’t it? I know I went out too hard because I kept looking at the power and it was higher than the average I finished up with for the whole race including the climb. Not that I think that would of changed the result versus the pesky mountain goat! :cursing::notworthy: (And another :cursing: for luck!)

I got dq’d which is odd because the guys who finished above me have a higher w/kg. Dunno if anyone has an idea what the deal is(?). I average 344w and 4.5w/kg which I know is over the boundary but I didn’t think it mattered under 20mins?

Sorry didn’t see your message until after 12. I went for the Tron this time as it seems to get best reviews in terms of being only marginally slower than the Venge sworks/ disc combo on the flat but a good bit quicker uphill. I assumed a TT bike would be too heavy on the hill

Don't you worry @<Tommy> , I'll happily explain to @IrishAl about my time...^_^

I actually did try and hold back on the flat and go as hard as possible on the climb and it does seem to really work when you compare our times. Our avearage watts for the whole thing were nearly identical but on the flat you did 8:23 at 320w, and I did 8:16 at 301w. On the climb you did 9:05 at 322w, and I did 8:41 at 339w. So a lot of time gained/lost on the climb. What bike did you use? I was faster than you on the flat for less watts so I'm assuming you didn't use a TT bike which I did?

Kudos to Tommy and Lee who both absolutely smashed it :notworthy:

Edit: ah I see you used Tron bike - I used Felt TT bike with Zipp 454s

I think I may have spotted the CC team's Dave Brailsford (or maybe Luke Rowe) ^_^
