Yes, and in doing so Alaphilippe gained 14 places on GC to 7th, with Phil Gil in 6th,
Are we talking about the same race? I.e 2019 TDF? Alaphillippe was 11th in GC after the TTT and Gilbert wasn't riding

So do we have a plan @IrishAl ?
Just catching up. I’m happy to go for a kamikaze move and take one for the team. Can we use discord?

I’m thinking it’s safer to sit in until the KOM - too much risk of being caught and blown out the back like a couple of weeks ago. So sit tight and try and take points on the KOM from a bunch sprint. Then try the team moves in the last 5km. I don’t mind going first or second. Going 5k out allows some recovery time if the group catches. Either way I’m happy just to get a good work out as long as another CCer does the business over these IRL riders lol

OK how about we just leave it that one of us will go for suicide break roughly 5km from the end. And when they're caught, another one of us tries to go? That way whoever feels OK can go for it ((assuming we're all still there!)

P.S happy to go on discord

I won’t be racing this evening. I went out for a 30 mile jaunt this afternoon - decided that would probably be more comfortable than the garage at 7PM!

Took all the necessary precautions for the heat, clothing wise (not for the feint hearted: @<Tommy>):

Also @<Tommy> - I was wearing a blue/white jersey, black bibs, and riding a green bike...

I asked the man from Moretti if I should race tonight- sadly, he said no 😛
Enjoy!

Well first race on the stages, don’t really k ow what to make to be honest. Felt soo much harder work, in the previous rides I was concerned my Kickr may have been over reading my power but looking at the numbers tonight I don’t think it was. Just felt harder. Not quite a responsive as the Kickr. Kept yo yo ing in the pack couldn’t hold a place. Won’t read too much into it yet as it was ridiculously hot so maybe that was it. As for the bike feels solid and the fact I can get the positioning better it feels right. Nice but will take some getting used to in the pack I think.

Anyway we’ll done everyone in that heat

5th on the road 6th with primes. Happy.

Never felt worse before a race. Just wrecked, no coffee all day, no warm up.

Giant group of about 30 stuck together till the KOM though including all the CC team which was great. I was constantly off the back firing off powerups as quick as I got them. At the KOM legs woke up though and managed to stick it out...much shorter than I thought it would be, and if I'm honest I forgot about the prime points, not that I would have figured.

It all calmed down a bit after that and the group reblobbed up as @Alongo caught the front group. Then it was pretty plain sailing until the humps at the end. As the last km rolled around I figured that in B races the earlier I go the better, and as I had no power up it was a no brainer. Slowly wound up from 700m out then clung to the guy who would finish 4th when he put out his aero. @IrishAl and the boy wonder duking it out for top honours as is tradition.

Averaged 3.2w/kg which shows how much I was hanging on at the start. Power definitely plateu'd.

Looks like C and D got on well?

I don’t know if it is the same but most people coming from a Kickr to a NEO say the effort seems harder even though power output about the same. HR for some also seems higher for the same effort. 276w average is not too shabby 👍
