Cheers @IrishAl that's great, and refreshing to know which primes count! I'll register cc as primary team again

I suspect @BurningLegs may have a point that green white and orange might not stand out in the team Ireland races lol so any ideas for alternative kit or even colours? Are there any white kits? Don't tend to see much of that

I know which primes count but have no idea when they appear on the course! @steverob normally keeps me right but he's not playing out tonight. I wish ZP gave you a list in KM or miles when they are appearing. Even the ZP map on the event only has the lap on. Anyway, that's my fault for being thick, not anyone else's!

I'm looking forward to it tonight. It looks like a different format on the primes to the DBR stuff and it's great to see a few more names (and hopefully some new rivalries) in at D as it was dying a death in the DBR series. :boxing:

I find the race recon really useful for these races- zwiftinsider in general is great

Zwift hacks sometimes has a good map with primes in it, I'll see if they have one for this course when I get a chance.

Alternatively if you want to go fully forensic you can always check out the YouTube races!

What about this - Vintage 1 in Orange.

I think that's what we used to wear when we first started CycleChat races. Having said that swapping from Green to Orange in an IRL Without Borders Race sounds about as wrong as we could get. There's a couple of other options. I'll post up

I have a query in with the guy that runs the league. Series 1 prizes were limited to Team IRL Zwiftpower members - but then we were pushing membership to get us up the team list - now we are 7th ahead of the Vikings 🇳🇴.

I am pushing for the prize draw to be open to anyone this time. Postage however is limited to uk/Ireland.

This series the prize is a “bundle” of goodies (one per cat) but this will be a random draw of all riders who do 6 of the 9 rounds as we felt the same people could be winning every series and it doesn’t inspire riders to keep coming back once they are out of contention.

I will confirm the bit about team ASAP.

Edit:- Points of course will be managed in Zwiftpower also. At the moment I’m going to fly under CycleChat team. I don’t think I’ve raced for CycleChat - have we got a preferred kit?

Looks like I'm the only cat C. CycleChat rider tonight.... Could be a lonely race

I was going to leave my team as WTRL but if you and @IrishAl are racing for CC then I have no excuse!

I'll swap to CC for this league, although you have to swap for each race if your primary team is normally different.

As most of you know a few of us had a trip planned to mont ventoux this year. In fact it was for the weekend that’s just gone by so that was a little sad. Of course with everything that’s gone on the last few months, not going this summer isn’t the end of the world. Just a bit of a shame. The hosts of the accommodation we’d booked have been nothing but very helpful, and we have already re booked the same accommodation for next summer. By which point we will all be absolutely chomping at the bit to have a crack at the cingles!

Also more importantly going next year gives the opportunity to see if anyone else fancies joining us. The invitation is open to all of course. Everyone from this group is more than welcome. And it’ll be a great laugh whether it takes you all day to climb up once or you want to try and complete 3 climbs in a day. If you haven’t met up before it can be a little surreal. But after about 5 seconds you forget you’re meeting blokes you got chatting to on the interwebz and it’s good fun.

It doesn’t matter if you’re winning the races on here or right at the back. Because these hill climbs are just a battle between you, the hill, and most likely your inner demons! 😄. We almost all split up going up the hill. Then join up again later to share stories of glory and woe.

So far there are 11 out of the 12 spaces filled in our accommodation. But if more than one person is interested there is other accommodation within a stones throw from our place.

There’s no rush to commit. I just thought I’d mention it as I got to thinking about ventoux and it seems ironic that zwift are also thinking about ventoux at the moment.

Let me know if your fancy it 👍

Yeah, looks unlikely I'll be taking part tonight - still exhausted after Sunday's efforts. But I wouldn't be doing my duty as unelected road captain of the D's if I didn't at least give you the distances to stick to your top tube (or wherever).

Sprint banners are at 3.6, 7.0, 10.4, 13.8 and 17.1 miles (5.8, 11.3, 16.7, 22.1 and 27.6km), with the finish at 20.5 miles (33km). If I've understood @IrishAl's post correctly, then the first (end of lead-in, start of lap 1), third (end of lap 2) and fourth (end of lap 3) banners will be the ones counting for points - I may have that wrong though, so please correct me if I've messed up!

Talking about old rivalries @Joffey, the event I did on Thursday did have a name in the sign-up sheet that was very familiar to us - Remi Nielsen. Unfortunately he didn't make the start line; maybe he didn't want to be beaten by another CC'er!

Sprint points could be very valuable Brendan. It will be a big ask for the same riders to go for all of the sprint bonus given there are 3 primes plus the finish. That’s a lot of matches to burn. There are 30 points Total available at the primes and then 20 at the finish.

you might think about a crafty attack to sneak points...maybe save your legs on lap 2 and go for it on lap 3.

this is my first Zwift race where there have been prime bonus on offer so it will be interesting To see how it affects the race. In real life you see breaks getting away to claim the primes, but i expect in Zwift any attack or attempt to break will be quickly chased down?

this is were team work might help. Are we using Discord tonight?

Ah, a shame Remi didn't take the start. He hammered me on that last Wednesday night DBR race - it 35ºC and more in the garage and I was ruined. It was so traumatic I've not raced since! Haha.

Cheers for the top tube distances - hopefully I'll make the front and have a good battle with everyone!

That looks about right for the prime locations assuming I have Understood it correctly as well. Here is a bit of Zwiftpower merged with the Strava route, sprints are on the mall. The first kicker on the lead in at 3.5km is always tasty.
