I did quite well in the sprints last time then got eaten alive by the hills. Really need to work on endurance- the difference between my box hill climbs this week was over a minute

That race recon is good to read for those sprints- there is a turn before the first sprint and you really need to be in a good position by then

Me too - last time I rode Richmond I kept with the front group all the way to the first climb then went pop and ended up riding the rest of the course on my own.

It really is about pacing those hills. None are long, but 3 in a row and you risk using all the energy on the first climb and just go 'pop' on the other 2.

What I did last time was looked at my best times on those hills (time and power) - so when I did them in the race I ensured I stayed within those limits. On the first hill I could have pushed a bit more, but I held off knowing I'd need a bit more for climbs 2 and 3. Sounds really simple, but when in the heat of a race, with riders going off the front, it's so easy to chase and blow up (haven't we all done that  ). Worked really well for me last time.

Also, by knowing what my best times were, when I was racing I knew how long the pain was going to last and it helped me mentally - especially that 3rd climb which is quite a long drag.

I'm guessing the c plan is to stick with Petersen?

Looking at the league, whilst I'd like to try and mark Petersen I think he'll just go with the B's again when we hit the hills so it may be in vain but be nice if we could sit on his wheel and let him pull us along .
I'll try to stick with that front group again and see if I can get over the KoMs with the rest of you.
I'll be watching those near me in the league - Fagerli-Mielsen, Christensen and Larseh - I'm at a slight disadvantage in overall league having been kicked out of the first race so harder to catch those in front but I think worth a pop :okay:

Already on it!

What's interesting about this course is that there are 8 primes available (2 sprints, 2 KOMs per lap), compared to the 2 we got on London Loop. As both of the sprints come before any climbs, it means people like me and Joffey stand a chance of picking up some decent points on the first lap at least! So your job will be to lead us out but not contest the Monument Ave and Broad Street sprints. Then when we reach Libby Hill, feel free to launch as many attacks as you want to try and push our rivals over 2.5w/kg!

You are averaging 60 points in the races you've finished so that puts you in virtual 3rd by my book (have we established how many races count in this league? 6 or 8 or something?)

In the second race Petersen missed the break and the b's carried us to (near) victory so sometimes best to improvise a little

I joined the one that had the most people in. 4 of us rode together and we saw you catch is up Paul but as you weren't banded with us we kept losing you or you losing us.
Yeah as I found out last night it's completely impossible to ride with a group that is banded together like you were because your speed is all over the place and bears no relation to your power often! Sorry again for the mix up - don't know if it was me or Zwift but I can assure you I only created one meetup so why two appeared I have no idea! Will try again next week
